BTS V Taehyung Acne Studios 1996 Logo 3D Long Sleeve

A Number That Marks a Founding Year, Not a Jersey

“96” prints large across the chest in navy denim-textured lettering, with a smaller matching “96” repeated on each shoulder in the position a varsity jersey would carry team initials. That number isn’t sports branding — it’s a direct reference to 1996, the year Jonny Johansson and a group of collaborators founded Acne in Stockholm as a multidisciplinary creative collective, years before the brand narrowed its focus to fashion and became Acne Studios. This Acne Studios 1996 long sleeve turns the brand’s own origin year into its central graphic rather than leaning on a logo or wordmark.

Recently Photographed on a Recognizable Figure

The piece has circulated recently in a paparazzi-style photo showing BTS member V (Kim Taehyung) wearing a matching top, paired with a yellow bandana in a casual travel outfit. That kind of visibility tends to spike resale interest in specific graphic pieces well past their original retail run, since Acne Studios’ seasonal drops don’t typically restock once sold out.

A Small Neck Tag, Not a Chest Logo

Unlike pieces that print the brand name prominently, this top keeps branding minimal: a small woven tag sits at the back neckline, leaving the “96” graphic to do all the visual work on the front and shoulders. That restraint lines up with the brand’s own stated approach of building a “framework for individuality” through simple, easily wearable pieces rather than loud logo placement.

Fit and Sleeve Construction

The silhouette runs long-sleeved with a crew neckline and dropped shoulder seams, giving the shoulder-placed “96” patches room to sit flat rather than stretching across a fitted seam. The overall cut is relaxed through the body without being oversized, closer to a classic long-sleeve tee than a bulky sweatshirt.

What It’s Likely Made Of

No official material specification page exists yet for this long-sleeve style, so expect (based on standard construction for this garment category and Acne Studios’ typical use of cotton jersey in its core apparel) a mid-weight cotton base in the cream colorway shown — details to be confirmed once a reference source is provided.

Key Details

This Acne Studios 1996 long sleeve features a denim-textured “96” graphic on the chest and both shoulders, referencing the brand’s 1996 founding year, with minimal branding limited to a small back-neck tag. No confirmed material specification is currently on file for this listing; fabric is estimated as a mid-weight cotton jersey pending an official spec source.
