Newcastle United 145th Anniversary Advent Calendar 2026
⚫⚪ A Countdown Built on Black and White Stripes
St James’ Park glows behind a gold-trimmed window on the cover of this Newcastle United advent calendar, marking 145 years since the club’s roots first took hold on Tyneside. Twenty-four numbered doors line the box, each opening to a small figure or replica pulled from the club’s history rather than a single era, giving the set the feel of a mini timeline as much as a countdown.
⚓ From a Byker Cricket Club to St James’ Park
The club traces back to November 1881, when a cricket team in the Byker area of Newcastle formed a football side that would eventually become Newcastle East End. A rival club, West End, folded in 1892, and East End absorbed its assets — including the ground at St James’ Park, where the newly renamed Newcastle United has played ever since. The black-and-white stripes that gave the club its “Magpies” nickname have stayed constant through a long stretch of history, including a 2025 domestic cup win that ended a 70-year wait for a major trophy. Several figures in this calendar nod to that long arc directly: a club legend in shirt number 9 recalls the striker who set a world record transfer fee before becoming the club’s all-time record goalscorer, while other pieces reference the ground itself, the current playing squad, and the “Toon Army” supporter culture that’s followed the club for generations.
🏆 What’s Behind Each Door
As a 145th anniversary football collectible rather than apparel, there’s no sizing or fabric involved here — each compartment instead holds a small figure, medallion, or model, from player-shaped figures in home kit to miniature stadium replicas, a trophy piece, and a magpie mascot figure standing in for the club’s nickname.
🎁 A Gift Sized for the Whole Season
This calendar suits a supporter who wants a small daily connection to the club through December rather than one big present. Since each piece stands on its own base, the set also works well displayed afterward on a shelf or desk.
🖤 Key Details
This 24 days of football collectibles set ships as a boxed countdown containing individually detailed player figures, mascot and trophy pieces, and stadium replicas finished in high-quality detail on labeled display bases; keep pieces out of direct sunlight and dust with a dry cloth to protect the painted kit detailing between seasons.
