BlueClaws Grateful Dead Night Jersey
🦀 A Mascot Who’s Clearly a Deadhead
Buster, the BlueClaws’ crab mascot, shows up above every version of this jersey riding a surfboard in a red bandana and yellow board shorts, arms crossed like he’s been waiting for the show to start. The jersey itself changes design from year to year — an ocean-blue gradient with a tie-dye skull medallion, the same base with the band’s dancing bears trailing across the shoulders, a full rainbow tie-dye wash with sunflowers and roses, or a cloud-blue print anchored by the “BlueClaws” wordmark in psychedelic lettering — but Buster and the surfboard carry through every one of them.
🎸 What “Grateful Dead Night” Actually Is
This isn’t a licensed novelty design; it’s the real jersey the Jersey Shore BlueClaws wear on the field for their annual Grateful Dead Night promotion, a summer tradition that brings out Splintered Sunlight — a longtime Grateful Dead tribute band — for a live set before first pitch. After the game, the jerseys players actually wore go up for charity auction, with proceeds benefiting BlueClaws Charities and its community grant program. This BlueClaws Grateful Dead jersey is built from that same design lineage rather than a generic tie-dye graphic slapped on team colors.
🍒 The Small Details Tied to the Night
Grateful Dead Night comes with its own menu of themed food and drinks at the ballpark — a Cherry Garcia sundae, Terrapin Station sliders, cocktails named after Dead songs like Scarlet Begonias and Shakedown Street — the kind of specificity that shows the promotion runs deeper than a one-off theme. The skull-and-lightning-bolt medallion and the dancing bears on the jersey are pulled straight from the band’s own iconography, not a loose homage to jam-band culture in general.

⚾ Fit and Construction
Cut as a traditional button-front baseball jersey with a full placket and set-in sleeves, this piece runs true to a standard athletic fit — not fitted, not oversized, built the way an actual on-field jersey would be. Material specifics for baseball jerseys are confirmed on file: expect a lightweight, breathable woven fabric suited to summer wear at the ballpark or off it.
🌻 Key Details
This Grateful Dead Night BlueClaws jersey comes in several seasonal colorways — ocean gradient, dancing-bears blue, rainbow tie-dye, and cloud-print — all featuring Buster the mascot on a surfboard and either the Grateful Dead’s skull-and-lightning medallion or the band’s dancing bears somewhere on the design. Built as a genuine button-front baseball jersey in lightweight woven fabric, it’s made for both ballpark wear and everyday use by fans of the team’s long-running summer tradition, not just for the one night a year it’s actually worn on the field.
