Detroit Lions 2026 Breast Cancer Awareness Dandelion of Hope Baseball Jersey

Tackle Breast Cancer, Fifteen Years Running

Detroit’s pink-and-black tradition didn’t start as a leaguewide mandate — it started in 2010 when a local committee pitched the Lions organization on a “Tackle Breast Cancer” shirt after watching other NFL teams roll out pink gear, and Nike helped the team build the first run. That original piece became an annual release tied to Crucial Catch and has since raised money for the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute, one of Detroit’s own cancer research centers. This Lions breast cancer awareness jersey carries that same “grew out of the fanbase” lineage, just rebuilt around a dandelion instead of a ribbon-and-slogan graphic.

What’s Actually on the Fabric

The front stays simple: bold pink “LIONS” lettering, a small lion mark near the waist, and two dandelions standing full and undisturbed close to the hem. Flip it around and the leaping lion logo sits inside a dandelion mid-explosion, seeds fanned wide across the upper back before trailing off toward a stitched pink ribbon lower down. “Strength. Hope. Fight. Together.” runs down the spine in cursive script, positioned close enough to the dandelion cloud that it reads as part of the same scene rather than separate text dropped on top.

Detroit’s Angle on Early Detection

Where some markets lean on pink merchandise alone, the Lions have spent recent years pushing the screening side of Crucial Catch specifically — partnering with Henry Ford Health and The Wellness Plan on a “Make Time for Mammogram Day” event timed to the 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit, and sponsoring the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk each October with the team’s own Women’s Association taking part. A former Lions player involved in the campaign put the initiative’s name plainly: “crucial catch” means catching the disease before it’s too late, not just wearing the right color on a Sunday. The dandelion fits that same logic — it’s a plant built to come back, the same message Detroit’s screening push is built around.

Sizing and Build

This jersey is built to JULIEDIARY’s confirmed baseball jersey construction: sublimated polyester with the dye fused directly into the fabric rather than layered on top, so the black base and pink artwork resist fading, cracking, or peeling through normal wear and washing. It holds a standard V-neck, short-sleeve jersey shape that runs true to size and layers comfortably under a jacket once October turns cold. A blank space sits on each sleeve for a custom name, useful for anyone wearing it to a Making Strides walk or dedicating it to someone going through treatment rather than wearing it purely as fan gear.

Key Details

The jersey uses a black body with pink trim at the collar and cuffs, showing dandelions near the front hem and a larger dandelion composition wrapped around the leaping lion mark on the back, above a stitched pink ribbon. “LIONS” runs across the chest in bold pink lettering, while “Strength. Hope. Fight. Together.” curves down the back in cursive script beside a thin heartbeat line. Sleeve space is left open for a custom name, and the jersey follows JULIEDIARY’s confirmed sublimated polyester baseball jersey construction.
