Frogs And Toads Advent Calendar 2026

🐸 Twenty-Four Species, Named and Labeled

Every figure on these shelves stands on its own black nameplate base, correctly identified down to species — Red-Eyed Tree Frog, Pacman Frog, Amazon Milk Frog, Harlequin Toad, Vietnamese Mossy Frog — spanning bright warning colors, camouflaged bark textures, and the classic bulging-eyed silhouette most people picture when they think “frog.” It reads less like generic novelty figurines and more like a labeled specimen shelf, right down to matching real coloration for each species.

☠️ The Small Yellow One That Could Kill Two Elephants

Among the brightest figures sits the Golden Poison Frog, and it’s worth knowing exactly how the calendar’s title undersells it — this species, found only along Colombia’s Pacific coast, carries enough toxin in its skin to kill an estimated 10 to 20 adult humans, or according to some researchers, up to two elephants. Indigenous Emberá communities in western Colombia have historically used its poison to coat blowgun darts, which is where the entire “poison dart frog” name comes from, even though only three species in that family have actually been documented used this way. Its bright coloring isn’t decorative — it’s a textbook case of aposematic warning color, advertising danger loudly enough that most predators learn to avoid it after one bad encounter. Sitting that frog just a few figures away from a plain American Toad on this frogs and toads advent calendar captures just how wide a range this one group of animals actually covers.

🌳 A Family Bigger Than Most People Realize

The frog-versus-toad distinction people often assume is fixed doesn’t hold up cleanly under real biology — both belong to the order Anura, and “toad” typically just describes drier, bumpier-skinned members of the same broader group rather than a separate scientific category. That overlap is part of why this set spans everything from the smooth, glassy-skinned White’s Tree Frog to the warty, ground-dwelling Cane Toad without contradicting itself — they’re closer relatives than their textures suggest.

📦 What’s Actually Behind Each Door

This is a boxed advent calendar built around 24 individually revealed acrylic figures, not a wearable item — no fit, sizing, or fabric involved. Each numbered door opens onto a different species, working more like a small natural-history display collection unlocked one figure per day than a food-based countdown.

🔑 Key Details

This Frogs and Toads advent calendar holds 24 named, species-accurate acrylic figures behind individually numbered doors, ranging from harmless backyard toads to some of the most toxic amphibians on the planet. As a non-apparel collectible, it follows standard advent calendar construction with no clothing sizing involved. Built for anyone who wants a daily countdown rooted in genuine biodiversity rather than a generic seasonal theme, it doubles as a surprisingly accurate introduction to a family of animals most people only half-understand.
