Guinness Est.1759 Heritage 2026 Advent Calendar
🍺 Two Hundred Sixty-Five Years, Behind 24 Doors
Deep black lacquer, gold foil scrollwork, and burgundy velvet bows wrap this Guinness advent calendar, dated back to the brewery’s 1759 founding on its cover. Inside, 24 numbered compartments each hold a miniature collectible rather than a chocolate or a trinket — a tribute box built around a beer brand old enough to predate the United States, still recognizable today by the same harp and lettering that have marked its bottles for over a century.
🎨 The Story Behind the Harp and the Bird
Arthur Guinness signed a 9,000-year lease on a rundown Dublin brewery on New Year’s Eve, 1759, and by the late 1800s had built it into one of the largest breweries in the world. The harp seen throughout this set — a Brian Boru harp facing right — was added to the label in 1862 and trademarked in 1876, so distinctly Irish that the country’s own government had to flip its state harp emblem the opposite direction to avoid a clash. The toucan came decades later, in the 1930s, when illustrator John Gilroy was hired to give the brand its first advertising campaigns; his zoo-themed posters, featuring the toucan balancing pints on its beak, became so iconic that the bird outlived the ad campaign itself and still stands as an unofficial mascot today. Several ornaments in this set carry Gilroy’s animal cast directly, alongside the tap handle, barrel, and pint glass that round out the brand’s other core symbols.
🐦 What’s Inside Each Compartment
As a 24 miniature Guinness figures set rather than clothing, there’s no sizing or fabric here — each door instead opens to a small sculpted piece, from mini bottle and can replicas to hand-painted toucans in various poses, a brass harp, a wooden barrel, and a couple of playful additions like a festive dog figure and a top-hatted bird. Every piece sits on its own labeled base, built for shelf display once the countdown ends rather than for one-time use.
🎄 A Gift for the Pub Regular
This calendar suits an adult fan of the brand who already has a favorite local spot, or a collector who likes small themed sets more than a single big item. It’s built as a display piece from the start, so pieces can move straight from the box onto a bar cart or shelf.
🏺 Key Details
This Irish stout collectible set ships as a boxed 24-day countdown containing miniature bottle, can, and barware replicas alongside sculpted mascot figures and brand-symbol pieces, each finished in high-quality painted detail on a labeled display base; keep pieces upright and dust with a dry cloth, since painted finishes can be sensitive to moisture and rough handling.
