Icy Santa Claus Christmas Countdown Advent Calendar

The Blue Coat, Not the Red One

Every figure in this set wears the same soft ice-blue coat trimmed in white fur, a departure from the red suit most Santa collectibles default to. Door one holds him on skis, poles in hand. A few doors later he’s tending a fireplace, and by door twenty-four he’s standing beside a small reindeer holding a lit star. This is not apparel, and the section that would normally cover fit and fabric is replaced here with something more useful: what each figure depicts and how the collection displays once complete.

Santa’s Coat Wasn’t Always Red

Before Santa’s appearance was standardized, his color scheme was genuinely inconsistent. Early 19th-century American illustrators drew him in brown, tan, green, and blue coats depending on personal taste, since Clement Clarke Moore’s 1823 poem “A Visit from St. Nicholas” gave the character a personality but never nailed down a specific look. It wasn’t until cartoonist Thomas Nast’s illustrations for Harper’s Weekly, starting in the 1860s, that the red suit became the dominant version — a shift that happened decades before Coca-Cola’s famous 1930s ad campaigns, contrary to the popular myth that soda advertising invented Santa’s red coat. This icy Santa Claus advent calendar essentially reaches back into that earlier, less-standardized era, picking one of Santa’s historically documented alternate colors and building an entire collection around it.

Twenty-Four Winter Scenes

The figures lean into a wintry, old-world aesthetic rather than the toy-workshop version of Santa more common in modern collectibles. Several show him engaged in seasonal activities — skiing, riding a sled, holding a lantern, reading from a long scroll like a list. Others carry more traditional Christmas props: a wreath, a small tree, a wrapped gift, a stocking stuffed with candy. A few break format for something more playful, including one dressed as a baker holding a tray and another seated beside a rocking horse, keeping the set from repeating the same static pose across all 24 doors.

Displaying the Full Collection

This falls under JULIEDIARY’s confirmed advent calendar spec: 24 individually sealed compartments inside a sturdy printed box tied with a satin ribbon, opened one per day leading to Christmas. Each figure is high-quality and hand-painted in the same ice-blue palette, small enough to arrange along a mantel or shelf once revealed, and sturdy enough to return as a display piece every December rather than getting packed away for good after one season.

Key Details

The calendar houses 24 individually sealed doors, each revealing a different Santa Claus figure in an ice-blue coat, engaged in scenes ranging from skiing and sledding to holding wreaths, gifts, and holiday props. It follows JULIEDIARY’s confirmed advent calendar construction, with a printed display box and high-quality, hand-painted figures built for repeat seasonal display.
