Korn x Adidas Originals Shirt
⚽ A Kit Built Like an 80s Football Club
Three stripes run down each shoulder in classic Adidas fashion, framing a black collar and cuffs against solid white — the exact silhouette of a vintage European soccer jersey rather than a standard band tee. “KoЯn” is signed across the chest in the band’s familiar backwards-R script beside the trefoil logo, while the back spells out “a.d.i.d.a.s.” in a jagged, gothic-metal font underneath a smaller trefoil at the collar.
🎸 The Song That Started as an Inside Joke
That title traces back to Korn’s 1996 album Life Is Peachy, where “A.D.I.D.A.S.” became the record’s breakout single and one of the band’s first real radio hits, peaking at number 13 on the Billboard chart. The letters stand for a schoolyard backronym that’s been attached to the Adidas name since the 1970s, and Jonathan Davis has described the song’s actual subject as teenage frustration after a party ends without the outcome someone hoped for. Whatever it’s really about, the connection to the sportswear brand stuck hard enough that this Korn Adidas jersey still leans on the same visual pun nearly three decades later.
👟 A Brand Loyalty That Didn’t Last
Korn wore Adidas constantly during their early Bakersfield years, which is part of why the song landed as such an obvious wink at the brand rather than a random title. Ironically, the band never struck an actual deal with Adidas — they ended up signing a six-figure endorsement with rival Puma in 1998 instead, meaning the loudest tribute to Adidas in 90s rock came from a band that never wore it as a sponsor.
🧵 Fit and Fabric
Cut with a slim, athletic silhouette typical of retro soccer kits — ribbed crew collar, set-in sleeves, straight hem — this jersey runs closer to the body than a relaxed streetwear tee. Football jersey material for this style isn’t confirmed on file yet, so expect a lightweight, semi-sheer woven fabric consistent with vintage-style soccer shirts rather than heavyweight cotton, and consider sizing up for a looser, more casual fit.
🔑 Key Details
This Korn x Adidas jersey pairs the band’s script logo with a full-back “a.d.i.d.a.s.” graphic on a classic three-stripe, black-and-white soccer-kit build. Football jersey fabric specifics aren’t finalized, so fit runs closer and lighter than standard streetwear. Built around a nearly 30-year-old song title and a brand loyalty the band never actually cashed in on, it’s made for fans who know the joke behind the design as well as the music itself.
