The Golden Girls Collector Edition Monopoly Board Game

Four Women, One Screened-In Porch

Blanche, Dorothy, Rose, and Sophia sit together against a backdrop of palm fronds and hibiscus on the box cover, the same warm color palette the show used for its 1985 opening titles. The board reopens on that same foursome seated in wicker chairs, teacups in hand, on what’s unmistakably the lanai — the screened porch at 6151 Richmond Street that served as the setting for countless late-night talks and cheesecake sessions across the show’s seven-season run. This The Golden Girls Monopoly board game treats that porch, not a generic Miami skyline, as its emotional anchor.

A Board Built From the Shared House

Properties trace the show’s actual settings and running references: Thank You for Being a Friend and Cheesecake Night open the board — the former a nod to the show’s iconic theme song — followed by Cuban Coffee, Glam Count, Miami, and The Lanai. The bottom row lists Sophia, Dorothy, Blanche, Rose, and Shady Pines, the last a running joke throughout the series about the retirement home Dorothy threatens to send Sophia to whenever she’s being especially difficult. St. Olaf Story anchors its own space too, a reference to Rose’s endless, rambling tales about her fictional Minnesota hometown. Chance and Community Chest split into “Cheesecake Night” and “Lanai Event” decks, while “Miami Moment,” “Stanchely Charm,” “Dorothy’s Comeback,” “Sophia’s Wisdom,” and “Rose’s Tale” round out the side cards — each named for a specific character’s defining trait rather than generic event labels.

Household Objects as Game Pieces

Eight metal-cast tokens replace the usual boot and top hat: a slice of cheesecake, a wicker chair, a palm tree, the house itself, a handbag, a teacup, a pair of glasses, and a “Ready to Sass” sign. Off the board, a miniature lanai scene complete with a wicker chair and pink hibiscus sits paired with a detailed model of the house’s front entrance, both staged as standalone display pieces.

Built for Repeated Game Nights

Cardboard construction here follows the same standard as the rest of this collector’s-edition line: a pressed board with a glossy finish, folded for compact quad storage, metal-alloy tokens, and card stock durable enough to withstand years of shuffling. It supports 2 to 6 players ages 8 and up, with sessions typically running 60 to 180 minutes — an easy fit for a multi-generational family game night given the show’s broad, decades-spanning fanbase. Keep it somewhere dry, since cardboard components are prone to warping in humid storage.

A Set for the Sitcom-Loving Shelf

Anyone who already keeps a stack of Golden Girls DVDs or a cheesecake-themed kitchen towel will likely find this one earns a spot next to them — the lanai diorama especially functions as a small piece of set decoration on its own.
